Directorate General Border Security Force (BSF), Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, has issued an official notification at website www.bsf.nic.in to fill 224 vacancies of Sub Inspector (GD) in BSF through Limited Departmental Competitive Examination - 2018-19 (LDCE). Candidates can apply for post by sending application form till 26th October 2018.

    Age Limit : Upper age limit is 32 years as on 26th October 2018. Relaxation in upper age limit is 05 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST as per the instructions issued by the Govt. of India

    Eligibility Criteria: Candidate must hold Graduate degree to qualify for Limited Departmental Competitive Examination - 2018-19 (LDCE). Constables/GD, Head Constables/GD and ASI (Exe) will be eligible to appear in the LDCE. Tradesmen who meet QRs of SI/LDCE. arc also eligible to appear in SI/LDCE. Applicants should have completed four years of service, including basic training.

    Selection Process : Selection process for Sub Inspector (GD) post will consist of Written Test (OMR Based), Physical Measurements, Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Medical Examination.

    How to Apply : Candidates can submit application in prescribed format available on BSF website www.bsf.nic.in along with Self-attested copies of relevant documents in support of qualification, age, two self-addressed envelopes to the concerned units/HQrs (Check official notification below for complete address) in which they are posted till 26th October 2018. Cover must be superscribed with APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF SUB INSPECTOR (GD) THROUGH LIMITED DEPARTMENTAL COMPETITIVE EXAMINATION-2018-19 and Centre of examination with Centre code.

          Education Qualification

          1) Constable (Generator Mechanic) - (i) Candidate should have completed Matric or equivalent from a recognized Board with Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Certificate in Electrician/ Wireman/ Diesel /Motor Mechanic trade from a recognized institute. (ii) Candidate should have three years experience in the relevant trade from a Central or the State Government recognized firm.

          2) Constable (Linemen) - (i) Candidate should have completed Matric or equivalent from a recognized Board with Industrial Training Institute Certificate (ITI) in Diesel/Motor Mechanic from a recognized institute. (ii) Candidate should have three years experience in the relevant trade from a Central or the State Government recognized firm.

          3) Constable (Generator Operator) - (i) Candidate should have completed Matric or equivalent from a recognized Board with Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Certificate from a recognized institute in Electrical wireman/ Lineman trade. (ii) Should have three years experience in the relevant trade from a Central or the State Government recognized firm.

          4) Sub Inspector (Works) - Candidate with Diploma (03 years) in Civil Engineering from a Central Government or State Government recognized Institute can apply.

          5) Junior Engineer (JE) / Sub Inspector (Electrical) - Candidate must have completed Diploma (03 years) in Electrical Engineering from a Central Government or State Government recognized Institute.

          Age Limit : Upper age limit is 30 years for Sub Inspector (Works), Junior Engineer / Sub Inspector (Electrical) and should be from 18 years to 25 years for Constable posts.

          Examination Fee

          (i) For Sub Inspector (Works) & Junior Engineer / Sub Inspector vacancy, Candidate have to male a Demand Draft/Postal Order for Rs. 200/- as examination fee in favour of the addressee to whom the application is addressed, payable at respective SBI/Post Office at the location or nearby station and should be send along with application. No examination fee charges for All Women,Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe, BSF Candidates and Ex-Servicemen.

          (ii) For Constable vacancy, Candidate have to male a Demand Draft/Postal Order for Rs. 100/- as examination fee iin favour of the addressee where the application form is being submitted by the candidates and should be send along with application.No examination fee charges for All Women,Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe, BSF Candidates and Ex-Servicemen.

          Selection Process

          (i) Sub Inspector (Works) & Junior Engineer / Sub Inspector : Recruitment process will consist of Written Examination, Second Phase Examination (Documentation, Physical Standards Test and Physical Efficiency Test.

          (ii) Constable : Recruitment process will consist of Written Test, Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Trade Test, Documentation & Medical Examination.
