SSC JHT Recruitment 2018 at ssc.nic.in - Translator, Hindi Pradhyapak Posts

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released a notification at ssc.nic.in to fill vacancies of Senior Hindi Translator, Hindi Pradhyapak, Junior Hindi Translators and Junior Translators through an open competitive Computer Based Examination.

An All India Open Competitive Examination will be conducted in the month of January 2019. Candidates having requisite qualifications can submit applications online from 22nd October 2018 to 19th November 2018.

Education Qualification: 

(i) Junior Hindi Translators/ Junior Translators : (i) Candidate must possess Master's degree in Hindi/ English with Hindi/ English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination OR Master's degree in any subject other than Hindi/ English with Hindi/ English medium and English/ Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of a examination.

(ii) Candidate should have a Diploma/ Certificate in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa or two years translation work experience in Central/ State Government Offices, including Government of India Undertaking.

(ii) Senior Hindi Translator : (i) Candidate must possess Master's degree in Hindi/ English with Hindi/ English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination OR Master's degree in any subject other than Hindi/ English with Hindi/ English medium and English/ Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of a examination.

(ii) Candidate should have a Diploma/ Certificate in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa or three years translation work experience in Central/ State Government Office, including Government of India Undertaking

(iii) Junior Translator / Junior Hindi Translator in subordinate offices who have not yet adopted Model RRs of DoP&T for JT/JHT : Candidate must possess Master degree in Hindi/ English with English/ Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level OR Bachelor degree with Hindi and English as main subjects.

(iv) Hindi Pradhyapak : Candidate must possess Graduate degree in Hindi with English as one of the subject along with Master degree in any subject with Bachelor of Education from a recognized University/Institute OR Bachelor's degree in any subject along with Master degree in Hindi with English as one of the subjects plus Bachelor of Education from a recognized University/Institute.


Age Limit : Upper age limit is 30 years as on 1st January 2019

Selection Process : Examination will consist of two papers (Paper-I & Paper-II). Paper- I will be Computer Based Objective Type paper which will consist of Multiple choice questions. In Paper- II  (Descriptive), candidates have to write an Essay each in Hindi and English and will have to translate two passages, One from Hindi to English and one from English to Hindi.

Only shortlisted candidates based on marks obtained in Computer Based Examination will be invited for Paper-II. At last shortlisted candidates will be called for Document Verification. Candidates will be able to download Admit Cards for all examinations at the official websites of SSC.

Application Fee : Candidates are required to pay Application fee charges of Rs.100 which should be pay either Online using SBI Internet banking/ Debit card/ Credit cards or can be pay through SBI challan at designated branches of State Bank of India (SBI).

No fee charges for all women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with disability (PwD).
